I achieved my PGCE in 2016 and worked for three years as a teacher of English in secondary schools, before leaving the school system to begin my journey as a tutor. I am passionate about the concept of education; there is nothing more rewarding for both parties than when new knowledge is gained and achievements are made.
My specialism is GCSE English Language, where I have overseen students boosting their grades to gain the levels of qualification they need to pursue their next educational steps. I also teach English Literature at GCSE level and have a breadth of knowledge across a wide range of texts. I have also taught Sociology, Health and Social Care and English as a Second or Other Language.
In my view, tutoring is not about one-sided lecturing with no room for dialogue; instead, it is about creating an interactive experience for the learner, where they can ask questions freely and explore resources with my guidance. I am flexible and encourage students to be self-reflective, picking out their own targets to work towards.
I can tutor online, or in person anywhere across the Dudley Borough and surrounding areas. I currently have availability during evenings and on Sundays.
