I’m Alycia, a trained primary school teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience and an absolute passion for education. Alongside offering 1:1 after-school tutoring sessions, I also work as a SEND tutor, supporting children with a range of additional needs and helping them to build confidence, develop their skills and reach their full potential.
I want my pupils to enjoy their educational experience so much that it instils a genuine thirst for knowledge and inspires them to become lifelong learners. I believe children learn more and enjoy learning when they are actively involved, rather than simply being passive listeners absorbing new knowledge. As a tutor, I therefore believe it is important to plan and deliver sessions that are engaging, interactive and tailored to each individual child. I always try to incorporate their learning styles, interests and passions into sessions — whether that be horses, football or even Area 51! My aim is to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where children feel confident, motivated and excited to learn.
When I’m not delivering or planning tutoring sessions, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family. I’m married with three children and a very adorable French Bulldog.
